Nintendo company stock is down as a result of Wii sales that are lower than expected despite that the company lowered Wii prices. Sales are slumping and it sounds like it took the company by surprise.
What would be the reason for slowing Wii sales? Well, market saturation might be one reason. Gamers have a choice between the Wii console, PS3 and Xbox of course. How many serious gamers will go for the Wii?
And relying on non-traditional gamers also has its pitfalls, since many individual buyers might be interested in the Wii Fit for example, but not at that price. Same goes for seniors who are using the Wii for exercise and fun, the price tag might be putting them off, even if it has been lowered somewhat.
People are not buying as much as they used to either, cutting costs and expenses, and a game console for folks who aren’t die hard gamers might not be high on the must buy list. When the economy is bad, this type of expensive purchase is out of reach for a percentage of the population that normally would be buying
Profits are down, and Nintendo’s income is lower as a result, what impact does that have for the buyer? Sales of the PS3 are up too because Sony lowered their prices to compete, so it seems like the competition is wising up too.
Now, buyers are going to be looking for more new games and game titles to take advantage of the new electronics, like the MotionPlus and the Wii Fit balance board. Will there be price cuts for games? Since most are at the $50 mark, lower Wii prices on games as well as consoles would be good for consumers.

This week, Nintendo is releasing one of the most anticipated Wii games of the year – the new Wii Sports Resort.
Wii Sports Resort is a new version of the Wii Sports game that was created when the Wii console was first released. The new Sports Resort includes features that take advantage of the Wii MotionPlus accessory, which adds on to the Wii controller to provide more fine-tuned action from the motion sensitive controller. The new game has 12 sports features, including new ones like jet skiing, sky diving, sword dueling and archery.
Early reviews find the new games take advantage of the technology well, but perhaps don’t go far enough, to provide a longer experience using the new MotionPlus technology. Some of the new games like swordplay and archery are great examples of use of the MotionPlus technology, but that familiar games like bowling and golf also are improved in this version. However reviewers were disappointed with technical issues like having to constantly recalibrate the controller by setting it down on a level surface for a few moments in between games. Not all of the games, such as wakeboarding and flying a plane, are as well done as the swordplay and archery games.
Some gamers may find that there isn’t enough to keep them interested here, with the mini games being less interesting – the wakeboarding for example – and the inclusion of games from the old version, like bowling and golf. But using the new controller accessory means there is something new in the quality of play, and for purposes of practicing and competing against yourself to improve your score, it sounds like it’s still worth buying. The Wii Sport Resort package comes with the Wii MotionPlus accessory included, so the $49.99 price tag might be worth it (the MotionPlus retails for $19.99 by itself). Right now, get Wii Sports Resort discounted at Amazon, with free shipping, for $46.99.
All in all, it seem like a good idea to add Wii Sports Resort to your Wii games collection especially to practice using the new Wii MotionPlus accessory.

We’re checking the prices for the Wii console and it’s still pretty clear that the best deals are on eBay. We saw a low price at Target a little while ago, Wii console on sale for $244, but the same system is still around $210 on eBay, with free shipping.
The other good reason to buy Wii on Ebay is that there is a way bigger variety of Wii systems available. You can find amazing combinations – anything you want really. Some sample deals are:
- Wii Console plus Wii Fit, contollers and nunchuks for two players, plus games
- Wii console all by itself, for about 20% less than any store
- Wii mega bundles with multiple games like Mario Kart and Wii Sports, plus the Wii console and Wii Fit balance board.
If you check the auction sites, you’ll still find great Wii on Ebay deals.

When you’re looking for a Wii console, no doubt you’ve come across the many Wii bundle combinations available too. Purchasing a Wii bundle is a really great way to buy a Nintendo Wii system and get the best price. The Wii usually comes with the Wii console, the Wii controller as well as a nunchuk. However, when you buy a Wii bundle, it will include multiple games, and two to four extra Wii controllers and nunchuks. Considering that a Wii controller and nunchuk combination runs about $60 when purchased at retail, you’ll see right away that bundles can save money.
Aside from the multiple controllers, a Wii bundle will include any variety or combination of Wii games you could possibly want. For example, some bundles include just the Wii Sports game and Wii Play game. Wii Sports has games like tennis, bowling, boxing, golf, and baseball. Wii Play has games and sports, including pool, several racing games, target practice, and even a Wii version of a tank battle game.
If you check online, a quick look will tell you that there are dozens if not hundreds of Wii bundle combinations for sale. Checking some included Wii game titles, there are Madden NFL 2009 football or Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess games, and most have at least two and up to four controllers and nunchuks. Take a minute or two to compare prices for accessories and games individually, and you’ll be able to add up the savings when buying a bundle compared to buying everything individually.
This past year, Nintendo had its newest success, the Wii Fit bundle. This includes the Wii console, the new Wii Fit balance board, plus it comes with a selection of games for using the Wii Fit. During the holidays, many retail stores couldn’t keep these on the shelves, including online stores! Still, plenty of Wii Fit bundles were available and still are at the online auction sites.
If you check out the inventory of Wii bundle deals that are available online, it’s amazingly huge. A buyer can find just about any specific, exact systems they might want – the perfect combination of Wii games and Wii accessories is probably just waiting for you, among the thousands of items for sale.
For the future, it’s a given that the best prices will be at online stores for Wii bundle deals, especially at eBay. If you want to buy right away, check the Buy It Now prices – You could find the best Wii bundle deal without ever having to even bid on it.

This year the Nintendo Wii is still flying off the shelves, but so are Wii games, as the millions of new Wii owners from the past year are looking to buy the best games for their families. Wii game prices don’t fluctuate much, and run about $50 retail, with prices a little lower on games you are willing to buy used or lightly used games. You can find good deals though by shopping online for Wii games, where you’ll find the best selection plus free shipping in time for Christmas.
Here are some of the hottest sellers this year:
Mario Kart for Wii: A variety of Nintendo characters race in fun karts through dozens of exciting locations. You can also play other Kart fans over the Internet all over the world! Rated E for everyone, this is great for kids 7 and up.
Mario Party 8: Mario Party series continues with Mario, Luigi and all your favorite Nintendo characters. Play dozens of mini games, or choose party play for two or more players. The mini games are easy to medium difficulty, good for any age starting with the youngest players through adults.
Lego Star Wars for Wii: A huge favorite, Lego Star Wars lets players play through all the Star Wars movies, with their favorite characters in Lego form. There are many special powers, characters and locations to unlock by collecting coins by destroying the bad guys. There is cartoon violence in this game, so while it’s rated E for Everyone, due to action and difficulty this is best for players 8 and up.

Wii Fit is turning out to be more popular than retailers could have expected – so getting one this year has been difficult. If you are hoping to buy a Nintendo Wii Fit for under the tree, you’ll need to go online to find the best deals.
It’s hard to find stores with Wii Fit available: the best bet is to go online to shop for a Nintendo Wii Fit and do it sooner rather than later if you need a unit n time for Christmas.
The big retailers have been having trouble keeping the Fit on the shelves, including the online stores, so you should check Wii Fit availability through online auctions first. As we’ve been checking prices and availability on auction sites, there are clearly still plenty available.
As with the Wii Console, you’ll also find good deals on Wii Fit balance boards as well as a good selection of Wii Fit bundles which include the console and the balance board together.
Online auctions give you the best options for pricing and shipping, the sellers we’ve reviewed also have fast shipping options and return policies. Check out auctions for the Wii Fitas soon as possible to get one shipped in time.

If you’re shopping for a Nintendo Wiisystem, right now the best deals are online, and the best online deals are at EBay. Here’s why: the retail stores are going to be hit with delays in getting the Nintendo Wii system onto their shelves as holiday shopping ramps up. Nintendo has already said they can expect delays in stores.
Some stores, even online, are limiting the number of units you can buy, and for stores like Amazon, consoles are often not in stock so you are buying from other sellers they recommend. if you are going to do that, why not shop from many more sellers on EBay? You can find a much bigger variety of Wii console deals and Wii bundles on EBay, it’s worth shopping there to compare prices. Save money and buy the right Wii system all in the same place!
